The E.H.M.A. was established in Rome in 1974. Its first and foremost aim was and still is, to foster fellowship and fraternity. It is a non profit making Association of professional Hotel Managers operating first class and luxury hotels of international repute, who are constantly seeking to improve their own qualifications and those of their staff, in order to maintain or better the standards of comfort and service which they offer to their guests. E.H.M.A.’s objectives have expanded along with the Association itself. The membership currently boasts about 450 members, General Managers of the grandest and most prestigious hotels in 30 European countries. In short, this represents 350 hotels, 90,000 rooms and 70,000 employees, with an annual turnover of 6 billion. Today EHMA promotes Europe as a whole through its members in the individual countries, encouraging the development of training and job exchanges.
